AN INTIMATE SEVENTIES WEDDING

TIMES-A-CHANGIN! AN INTIMATE SEVENTIES WEDDING

Here at Mu Du we were delighted to be invited by Fashion and Beauty creative Melinda Grant to design hats for her sustainable wedding shoot.

We have seen a strong demand for bridal hats that create a slinky silhouette. Our Mu Du bridal boaters add panache to your wedding.  The perfect addition to the slip dress, halter neck gown or chic suit.

Mu Du uses straw capelines that are handwoven in Ecuador using toquilla palm with age old methods. Creating a single capeline takes many, many hours and a great deal of skill. The toquilla palm is grown organically and is a completely natural fabric. Our hats are traditionally hand blocked  in the UK  and hand trimmed to order in London.

Melinda Grants  70’s shoot is the inspiration for you to channel your inner nature child with your ethical credentials intact!

The shoot like most weddings today was small but perfectly formed.  The emphasis was a relaxed and fun day whilst effortlessly giving back!

We were delighted to be featured with brands and people who care about sustainability and the joy of nature.

Samsara Retreat, the venue, deep in the Kent countryside comes complete with Oast house, apple orchards, Bedouin tents and shepherds huts.  All set in gardens to delight.

The Elysian Styling company brought romantic and  seventies nature-inspired touch’s to the wedding with local flowers from independent Kent flower farms.

Our free spirits Laura  (singer songwriter and model) and her boyfriend John (photographer) had the perfect fun personalities for this shoot.

For effortless white tailoring the bride wore an elegant bridal jumpsuit by Savannah Miller provided by Brides Do Good, an ethical bridal company who encourages brides to shop more ethically and sustainably where sales are invested in charitable projects to end child marriage.

The VW camper van brought a fun vintage touch provided by Buttercup Bus.

To add more fun to the proceedings Melinda opted for a vintage style video created by Luke Batchelor Productions.

Even in the midst of a storm the fun and love shone through which made great footage for the video.
